Basingstoke Town have signed 23-year-old midfielder Aaron Kuhl.
Boss Dan Brownlie said: “Aaron came along with Martin [Kuhl] to a few of our pre-season sessions in a bid to further his fitness levels. Then more recently in the past couple of weeks he has trained with us more regularly and, whilst it was never in doubt, shown his quality.
“I watched Reading U23s play Chelsea back in 2014 at the Madejski Stadium, and to this date, Aaron’s performance remains one of the single most impressive I’ve ever seen live. Obviously, he’s had a lengthy lay out through injury and, in truth, a lesser player would have given it in, but his mentality is frightening.
“Of course, we have to look after him as he’s been out for a significant period but I have to admit he’s chomping at the bit to get going.”
Aaron Kuhl said: “I’m really happy to be signing here. On a personal level, it’s been a long time coming, having been out for so long.
“I’m feeling fit and confident about being back playing and I’m looking forward to getting started with the boys.”
Kuhl’s paperwork has been approved by the FA and he will be available for selection for this Saturday’s FA Trophy tie with Cirencester.
