AFC Killingworth manager Dean Nicholson has left his role.

The club confirmed yesterday evening that Nicholson has resigned for personal reasons, with Craig Heward taking over first-team affairs.

Playing in the Northern Football Alliance League, the team are currently in a strong position in the Premier Division, sitting in 3rd place with games in hand on top two Newcastle University and Newcastle Blue Star.

The club said via Twitter: “Dean has done a fantastic job this year reaching two finals with one semi to play and (we) sit in a fantastic league position. We would like to wish Dean all the best from the club. Thanks mate.”
