The final two relegation places in the Vanarama National League were filled this weekend, as Aldershot and Havant & Waterlooville’s fates were sealed.

Gary Waddock’s Aldershot drew 1-1 at home to Hartlepool United, leaving them 12 points from safety with only three games left. It is a sad decline since the Shots were a promotion contender last season, ultimately finishing 5th and losing in the play-off qualifying round on penalties to Ebbsfleet United.

A point and a place higher but also relegated now are Havant & Waterlooville. Lee Bradbury’s Hawks team have broke new ground by reaching the fifth tier, but it was a 3-2 loss at promotion-chasing Solihull Moors that sent them back down at the first attempt.

Braintree Town and Maidstone United had already been relegated.
