James Poole has joined Hyde United on a one-month loan to speed up his return to full match fitness after his recent hamstring injury.

Altrincham’s attacking midfielder was cleared to resume full training last Thursday, more than two months after hobbling off against Ashton United, and made a late appearance as a 77th-minute substitute in the impressive 2-1 win at Boston United two days later.

It was felt, however, he needed more game time to build up his strength, and therefore his resistance to any recurrence, and the chance of a temporary move to Hyde was seen as the ideal solution all round.

It will be familiar territory for Alty’s talented forward, as he returns to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League – scene of a memorable title triumph for Phil Parkinson’s squad last season – and bolsters a Hyde side who are more than holding their own in 10th place after being promoted from Division One North.
