Barton Town have announced the signing of Craig Disley.
The former Grimsby Town midfielder signs for the Swans for the 2019/20 season, and will also be the club captain. Disley’s footballing CV boasts 750 career appearances, with 90 goals and the majority of those games being played in League football.
Having played for Alfreton Town and Cleethorpes Town in recent seasons, Disley arrives at the Easy Buy Stadium with a wealth of experience and a pedigree which can only have a positive influence on a young Swans side.
Barton boss Dave Ricardo was happy to have signed him:
“Craig came into the picture over the last three weeks as a result of what happens at all levels of the game, which is players’ talk as well as managers having chats especially this time of year. For myself personally and Benno (James Bennett, assistant manager) it was an absolute no-brainer and I’m excited to be working with him as well as the rest of the squad.
“Craig offers not just experience but a leadership by the way he plays the game and the standard he keeps. It’s abundantly clear in the two games he’s played and training sessions he’s been at the standards he sets are, if I’m honest, refreshing to see.”
