Blyth Spartans have signed former Newcastle United central midfielder Jack Hunter.
The 21-year-old was released by the Magpies last summer, despite often captaining the under-23s, and was quickly snapped up by Gateshead for the 2018/19 season.
He soon established himself as a first-team regular at the International Stadium, appearing 37 times as The Heed just missed out on the National League play-offs.
“I am delighted to get Jack on board,” said Clark. “I’ve been chasing him all summer.
“After the integral part he played at Gateshead last season, he had many options but thankfully he has chosen us.
“He will add defensive work and quality on the ball from midfield.”
