Braintree Town are seeking the help of a talented street artist as they look to install a permanent tribute to late Prodigy frontman Keith Flint.

The iconic Flint was born in Redbridge but later moved to Braintree, and it was there that Prodigy were formed. The electronic dance act rose to prominence in the 1990s and have since sold around 25 million records worldwide.

Flint died in March this year at the age of 49 and a campaign to build a statue of him in Braintree was backed earlier this year by the local council. A petition had been signed more than 10,000 times.

Now Braintree Town, bidding to challenge this season for an immediate return to the National League, are looking to honour Flint at their Cressing Road ground. The Iron now walk out to Prodigy’s ‘Firestarter,’ while a 10ft x 10ft surface on their water tank has been identified as where they would like an artist’s depiction of Flint to be displayed.

The club have asked for ‘a talented street artist’ to get in touch.
