Lincolnshire Live report that work to build a new ground for Boston United could start within weeks, according to club chairman David Newton.

He confirmed that work on the The Pilgrims’ new community stadium could soon start at The Quadrant, off the A16 in Wyberton.

The club are waiting to hear back from Homes England before beginning the build, which would see United take a step closer to becoming more sustainable.

Mr Newton told Lincolnshire Live: “We’re confident that we’ll receive the funding to start building at The Quadrant.

“We’re waiting to secure funding from Homes England but I’m confident that we’ll be starting work in the next few weeks.

“Once we’ve got the funding we can begin to source materials.”
