Salisbury have confirmed that manager Steve Claridge will lead the club into the Southern League South (Premier) next season.
Claridge’s name had been linked with the vacancy at Woking, but that job has now been filled by Alan Dowson from Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Salisbury chairman Ian Hammond announced: “I am delighted to say that, in spite of all the speculation, Steve Claridge will remain as manager and a director of the club on its journey to a level which is more in line with where it should be.
“I had a very encouraging meeting with Steve over a week ago at which he confirmed his intentions, but speculation continued until Woking FC finally appointed their new manager.
“As far as the club is concerned, I hope Steve will continue to develop the side and am content that, with the club’s current financial position, he will have the necessary tools.”
