The London Borough of Bromley have granted approval for Cray Wanderers’ proposed new Flamingo Park ground.
Back in January, the club had been frustrated by a delay, as the London Borough of Bromley were awaiting a delayed Stage 1 report from the Greater London Authority (GLA). At the time, though, Cray chairman Gary Hillman said he remained ‘convinced that Bromley Council and the London Mayor will view the further enhanced community and environmental merits of our scheme in March and give our loyal supporters the home they deserve.’
The news is a magnificent boost for a club that can lay claim as the oldest association football club in the capital. This season, Cray continue in their playoff bid in the Bostik South, with a six-point buffer between them and Hythe Town in 7th.
