Former Hartlepool United star Nathan Thomas has donated one of his match shirts back to the club in a bid to help raise funds.
The winger got in touch with Pools on Wednesday evening to offer the yellow away shirt that he and his teammates wore during the 2015/16 campaign. Thomas – who left Pools for Sheffield United in the summer – will hand-sign the long-sleeved shirt for whoever wins the auction and it will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
“Spent some of the best days in a Hartlepool United shirt,” Thomas wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday night.
“Without them I wouldn’t be the person and player I am today. I met friends for life and fans that stood by me through thick and thin.
“A football club that is very close to my heart. Was always very proud to wear the shirt.”
All funds raised from the auction will go to Hartlepool United.
