Striker Nicke Kabamba has signed for Havant & Waterlooville after leaving Portsmouth.
Kabamba joins the club with good experience of the professional game. He joined Portsmouth from Hampton and Richmond in January 2017 and was a part of the team that won the Fratton Park based side the League 2 title under the stewardship of Paul Cook.
Kabamba started the Blues’ opening game of last season against Rochdale before being loaned out to Colchester United on Deadline Day in August. Following that six-month loan, Kabamba embarked on an adventure at fellow National League side Aldershot Town where he helped steer the Shots to the play-offs before losing to Ebbsfleet in a penalty shootout in the elimination round.
Joining the Hawks is what manager Lee Bradbury says is a platform for him to return to the EFL in the not-too-distant future, whilst also stressing out how he will add further experience into the side.
“He’ll bring experience but he’s still only 25. It will be a very good signing with Alfie Pavey as well meaning we have an exciting front line with Alfie Rutherford and Matt Tubbs.”
“There was quite a few after him but the location was key and the league that we are in which will hopefully give him a platform to get back into the professional game.”
