A manager who learned his trade in the Welsh pyramid has joined National League side Salford City FC’s push for promotion.
Chris Herbert has joined the club as North West scout and first team analyst, in addition to working with the ‘Class of 92’ owned outfit’s U23 squad.
Herbert was a popular figure at a number of clubs during his playing career, which included spells at Airbus UK FC and Connah’s Quay Nomads.
His first role at management was at Welshpool Town, after which he spent time as a coach at Rhyl before being appointed Conwy Borough’s manager in May 2012.
He later went into the Cefn Druids hot seat, but left in 2015 to move into the English system, working as a scout for Chester FC and joining Runcorn Town alongside ex-Nomads boss Mark McGregor.
