Farsley Celtic captain Danny Ellis has committed his future to the club for the 2019/20 season.
Ellis joined the club from Harrogate Town in 2017, and the defender has since captained the club to the West Riding County Cup and Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division, making 86 appearances in the process. The ex-Guiseley man has vast experience playing in the National League North, having played at step two for a number of years with the Nethermoor Park club, and also with Harrogate.
On signing his new deal, the Celts’ captain said: “On a personal level I am really happy at Farsley Celtic, and I am delighted to have signed on for another season.
“Last season was an unbelievable achievement; we had pretty much been in the mix from the start and maintained that form all the way through. Even with the loss of important players through injury, it just showed the togetherness and spirit we have.
“Everyone said that we wouldn’t be able to maintain that form but the manager Lakey (Adam Lakeland) told us every time, ‘you boys are the best in the league’, and that we should believe it.”
