FC Halifax Town have confirmed the signings of defender Nathan Clarke and striker Jonathan Edwards.
Clarke, 34, has been with the Shaymen on trial during pre-season and he has now officially joined his hometown club after starting his career at Huddersfield Town, having come through their academy and making 266 appearances for the Terriers. He had loans spells with Colchester United and Oldham Athletic before joining Leyton Orient in 2012. He made over 100 appearances for the O’s.
Clarke returned to West Yorkshire in 2015 and joined Bradford City, making 25 appearances, and since he left Valley Parade, he has played for Coventry City and Grimsby Town.
24-year-old striker Edwards started his career at Peterborough United and had loan spells with Bishop’s Stortford, Biggleswade, Ilkeston and St Albans City. He joined Hull City after a successful trial with their U21 squad in 2016 and had loan spells with Accrington and Woking during his time with the Tigers.
