Branden Horton has today joined Gainsborough Trinity on a work experience loan from near neighbours Doncaster Rovers.

A highly regarded prospect at Doncaster, Horton is a left-back by trade and has appeared in the Rovers first team, where he has been given the number 35 squad number.

Born on September 9th 2000, Horton will push Ben Gordon for the left-back jersey, with both Lee Sinnott and John Reed expressing their delight at being able to bring the youngster into the club:

“He will bring something a little bit different to what we already have down the left-hand side, and it goes to show the positive relationship we are building with the local clubs around us, especially with how we have helped young Marcus Dewhurst in his development, recently.”

Horton will continue to train within the Doncaster Rovers setup but will link up with Gainsborough for training and matches.
