Gloucester City are keen to take Luke Russe on loan.

The Bristol Rovers midfielder had a successful time on loan at the National League North club last season and with the amount of midfielders in the Gas’ squad, it appears unlikely that he will feature heavily in Graham Coughlan’s first-team plans this season.

Following an injury to Jennison Myrie-Williams, Gloucester are in talks with Rovers over another loan for Russe.

Manager Mike Cook told Gloucestershire Live: “Jennison’s got a setback with his injury, what we thought the injury was has now not turned out to be that. It’s turned out to be something different.”
