Crewe Alexandra defender Michael Raynes has returned to the club from his loan at Hartlepool United to undergo rehabilitation on an achillies injury.

The 31-year-old picked up the problem in Pools’ 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient and is set to be sidelined for around eight weeks.

Raynes has gone back to Reaseheath for treatment, but will return to Hartlepool to complete his loan spell when declared fit & ready for a return to training.

He has made three appearances for Pools so far, making his debut in a defeat to Harrogate Town before helping the side to a victory over Braintree Town prior to the O’s draw.
