Eustace has mixed feelings after Harriers defeat

John Eustace had mixed feelings after Kidderminster Harriers’ 2-1 defeat to Tamworth on Tuesday night.

The team slipped to defeat on a frustrating night at the Lamb, although might well have snatched a late share of the spoils.

Tamworth were ahead at the break after what had been a reasonably even first 45, before the visitors were forced to dig deep for a late response.

They had it in part thanks to Joe Ironside’s fourth goal of the season ten minutes from time.

And the comeback was nearly complete as Andre Brown was presented with the ball inside the area, only for the striker to be denied by a fine save.

All in all, the frustrations of the night weren’t lost on Eustace, who said after the final whistle: “We’re really disappointed with the result.

“I thought we started the game really well for the first half an hour.

“We had a bad 15 minutes before half time and at the start of the second half we were under the cosh a bit.

“But I was proud of the lads efforts in the last half an hour, they stuck at it and showed a lot of character to keep going.

“In the end it could have been 2-2 but for a fantastic save from the goalkeeper.

“It’s a very tough place to come to and they’re on a great run at the moment.

“We’re obviously disappointed with the two goals but I was very pleased with the way they kept going and, as I say, we could have nicked a draw in the end.”
