Craig Hignett has encouraged his Hartlepool United players to stay on the front foot as they look to maintain the momentum built up in recent weeks when they host Bromley on Saturday.
The Pools boss has masterminded a four-game unbeaten run which has seen his side hit the net seven times and concede just twice to give renewed hope to supporters.
Hignett says there has been no magic wand to wave in order to produce the upturn in form, it’s simply been down to giving the players the right platform on which to perform.
And even though he knows that a Bromley side who have tasted defeat just once in eight games will provide tricky opposition this weekend, he doesn’t want his team to abandon their attacking mentality.
“We’ve just given people some belief, some confidence and the freedom to go and express themselves,” Hignett told Pools PlayerHD.
“I have asked them to attack. I want them to not worry about what they’re leaving behind, just go and attack and try to score goals.
“They’ve taken to that and I think they enjoy playing the game that way.”
