Hitchin Town have signed Alex Marsh from Biggleswade FC.

Former Rushden and Diamonds and Peterborough United youth-teamer Marsh is an attacking midfielder who has scored goals for fun over the past few seasons, including 32 in 47 games during FC’s promotion campaign last season. He finished off that particularly successful campaign by winning the Supporters’ Player of the Year award.

Speaking of the signing, a thrilled Mark Burke said:

“I am delighted to have secured the signing of Alex. He is a player that was flagged up to us sometime ago but he really came to our attention when he destroyed us in a pre-season friendly scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory.

“I would like to thank Biggleswade FC for their understanding and co-operation in ensuring the transfer went through.”

Marsh goes straight into the squad to face Bromsgrove Sporting this weekend.
