With leading goal scorer, Chib Chilaka, serving a three-game suspension for the red card he picked up against Matlock, Hyde United manager Darren Kelly has had to quickly find cover for the upcoming away fixture to Mickleover Sports this Saturday.

The club have announced the signing of experienced striker Deane Smalley, who has played most of his games in the EFL.

Smalley started his career with Oldham Athletic and had loan spells at Rochdale and Chesterfield before signing for Oxford United. From Oxford United he joined Plymouth Argyle and most recently Chester.

Deane won’t be a stranger to one of the current squad as his brother is current Chester loan player, Dominic Smalley.
