Gavan Holohan has been given the green light to begin his Hartlepool United career after the club received international clearance for the midfielder on Wednesday morning.
The 27-year-old arrived at The Super 6 Stadium on trial last month and agreed a stay until the end of the season after impressing boss Craig Hignett in training.
However, the Irishman has had to be patient as the club waited on the necessary clearance, which has now arrived and means Holohan can come in to contention for Saturday’s trip to Barnet.
“It’s great for Gavan and for us that we’ve got the international clearance sorted now,” Hignett admitted.
“He’s been training well but chomping at the bit to get involved on matchday so it’s brilliant that he can now come in to the equation.”
