Wrexham have confirmed that after turning down the offer of a new contract Kayden Jackson at the Racecourse, he will be signing for SkyBet League One side Barnsley.
The Yorkshire club play in the League One Play-Off Final this coming weekend at Wembley and have already been busy signing players with National League pedigree – taking Stefan Payne from Dover Athletic last week.
Kayden is based in Bradford, but moved to the Racecourse from Tamworth last summer.
He was a regular member of the Dragons first team this year, with a total of 36 appearances in the league, although often coming off the bench in the first half of the season, before becoming a starter after Christmas.
Kayden grabbed a double against Kidderminster Harriers, while also contributing well remembered derby day efforts against both Chester and Tranmere Rovers.
His performances saw a number of Football League scouts take in our games and he also attracted the attention of Paul Fairclough, who selected him for the recent England C trip to the Ukraine, in which he scored during a 2-0 success.
Due to his age, the Dragons will be entitled to some compensation.
