Cambridge City’s players have this week been warned about their discipline and told that losing the plot is costing them games, report Cambridgeshire Live.

Jordan Gent became the third City to see red this season when he was sent off during Saturday’s 4-3 FA Cup first qualifying round exit to Brightlingsea Regent.

This follows the early baths for keeper Liam Gooch in the previous week’s league defeat to Didcot Town, and Salim Relizani during the opening day draw against Corby.

“Our discipline let us down again on Saturday,” said assistant manager Neil Midgley. “It put us on the back foot, whereas before we had been going toe to toe with them and matched them for long periods.

“If we’d kept 11 on the pitch we might even have won. We’ve laid down the law about it this week as it’s costing us. I know the players are frustrated with the results, but that’s no excuse.”
