The Daily Echo say Luke Holmes is set to join Poole Town, according to his uncle Danny.

The midfielder began the campaign at Wimborne Town, playing under his father Matty at Cuthbury.

But in a month of changes for the Magpies, Luke Holmes departed for Southern League South rivals Salisbury while Matty stepped down as boss with his brother Danny taking the reins.

However, Luke Holmes was released by Salisbury less than three weeks after joining with their manager Steve Claridge saying Holmes “doesn’t feel mentally strong enough for this sort of challenge”.

That sparked talk of a return to Wimborne for the talented 22-year-old, with Danny Holmes revealing at the weekend that he would “speak to the board” about the situation of their former man.

But it now appears Luke Holmes is set to feature for a third club in less than a month.
