Hakan Hayrettin has stepped down from his role as manager of Vanarama National League club Braintree Town.

He returned to the club in October 2018 to help out following the departure of Brad Quinton and was appointed permanent manager a month later after an improvement in results.

However, Braintree – one of the few part-time clubs in the National League – have slipped back to the bottom of the table and are currently nine points adrift of the safety mark.

It is rumoured Hayrettin is to join a new managerial team alongside John Still at Maidstone united.
