Salford City have released a statement confirming the resignation of Paul Scholes as a director, as he takes over as manager at Oldham Athletic.
The Vanarama National League club’s statement reads as follows:
Salford City Football Club is delighted that Paul Scholes has accepted the role of Football Manager at Oldham Athletic AFC.
Although Paul was never operational in Salford City he will resign as a director of the football club, allowing him to focus completely on his new role at Oldham.
From the start we have always said that each of the Class of ’92 would offer different levels of commitment dependant on their individual roles. Salford City is a long term interest for the Co92 and Paul will retain his 10% shareholding in the Club.
It is great that Paul is back in football and everyone at the club wishes him all the best in his new venture into football management!
