Aldershot Town have completed the signing of 21-year old Scottish striker Connor Shields, formerly of Sunderland.
The forward began his career at Albion Rovers where he made his debut whilst still a member of the club’s youth team in 2016.
After breaking through as a first team regular in 2017/18, where he scored 12 goals in 27 appearances, he attracted interest from Sunderland, prompting the Black Cats to sign him in January 2018.
He was loaned to Scottish Championship side Alloa Athletic last season where scored three times in 34 appearances and helped them reach the Quarter-Finals of the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Shields impressed in the Black Cats U23 side but didn’t make a first team appearance whilst in the North East and was let go at the end of last season. He can also play in midfield and on the wing.
