Stockport County boss Jim Gannon has bolstered his striking options with the loan signing of Joe Piggott from Wigan Athletic.
The 21-year-old centre-forward has signed for an initial one-month spell with an option to extend.
Last season he played for Altrincham in the National League North, scoring four goals in six appearances, including a second-half hat-trick in a 6-0 demolition of Curzon Ashton.
He had previously spent nine games on loan at Morecambe earlier in the campaign.
Jim Gannon said: “I’m delighted to have been able to reinforce the squad and strengthen our striking options, because we have started to encounter a crop of injuries recently, so it’s important to have other options. Joe is a powerful, talented young striker and I’m pleased that he’ll be available for our game at Chorley on Saturday.
“He’s got good experience at the North level, and his previous record is very impressive.”
