Torquay United manager Gary Johnson will call for his players to sharpen up their work at both ends of the pitch before they take on Maidenhead United at Plainmoor tonight (7.45pm) in their fourth game of the new National League season.
The Gulls have scored five goals but conceded seven so far, but a second home win should push them into the top-half of the table.
Johnson, who reports a clean bill of health from Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Bromley, said:
“People may have heard it before, but games are won and lost in the penalty areas – for all the good work you might do outside, it’s what happens inside that usually counts.
“We can’t score three and let in three every week and hope to win promotion.”
