West Didsbury & Chorlton have signed Jake Kenny on a short-term dual registration deal from Atherton Collieries.
Kenny has been an integral part of the Colls side that has marched up the divisions in recent years, but sadly suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury that kept him out of the game for the 2018/19 season.
He joins West as he begins his return to the game, and also to provide depth and cover at the right while Matthew Cook takes a well-deserved holiday during his summer break from his full-time job as a teacher, the club say.
Kenny goes straight into contention for tonight’s game against Stockport Town, with his condition and availability to be monitored on a game-by-game basis as he looks to rejoin his parent club and help them in their debut campaign in the Northern League Premier Division. He has also previously turned out for Hindsford, FC Halifax Town, and Salford City.
