Striker Macaulay Langstaff has agreed to join York City from Vanarama National League side Gateshead.
Langstaff, 21, is the fourth player to make the move from Gateshead to City this summer – following in the footsteps of Russ Penn, Jordan Burrow, and Wes York.
Manager Martin Gray said: “Macaulay is a young, up-and-coming, centre-forward who is very quick around the box and a good finisher. He was a late starter in the game and Gateshead were desperate to keep him.”
After starting his career in the Northern League with Billingham Synthonia, Langstaff joined Gateshead in February 2017.
He made five appearances for Gateshead last season but also spent two periods on loan at Blyth Spartans in Vanarama National League North – making his Spartans’ debut against City at Croft Park in August.
