1874 Northwich, of the Hallmark Security League Premier Division, will contest an FA Cup third qualifying round tie for the first time in the club’s history later this month.

That is their reward for a 1-0 victory against North Ferriby United, opponents who won the FA Trophy in 2015 and play three levels higher in the National League North, on Sunday afternoon.




Kyle Dixon, a substitute for the Villagers, scored an own goal midway through the second period to settle the outcome, diverting Taylor Kennerley’s set-piece past stranded goalkeeper Ross Durrant.
