1874 Northwich chairman Steve Richardson says the club would be honoured to take up the chance of moving up the pyramid as part of the Step 4-6 restructure.

The club were eight points clear at the top of the NWCFL Premier Division in 2019/20, having played 29 matches.

Richardson told the club’s website following yesterday’s announcement regarding the proposed restructure:

“We are pleased that the FA Alliance and Leagues Committee have come to a decision after two years of uncertainty.

“Should 1874 be invited by The FA to apply for a place in the new league at Step 4, then we would be honoured to fill that position, and we would represent the league to the best of our ability.

“This decision rewards the efforts that the supporters, players and managers have put into the club since our inception.”
