Matlock Town’s injury crisis has prompted Terry Fleming to come out of retirement at 45.
The midfielder enjoyed a playing career with the likes of Coventry City, Lincoln City and Cambridge United before later managing Lincoln United.
Fleming has been working as an assistant at Matlock under new boss Dave Frecklington, but an injury crisis meant that the ex-Grimsby Town man was unexpectedly forced to pull on the boots in competitive play again.
The Evo-Stik Premier Division side were beaten 1-0 last night by Basford United, with Fleming playing almost 70 minutes. He was replaced by Nathan Clarke, who is just 16 years old.
