Matlock Town manager Paul Phillips is raring to get his players back together, as the Derbyshire side prepare to return to training.
The Northern Premier Division outfit, who have had their matchday action suspended since the end of October, are due to resume training next Tuesday.
Gladiators boss Phillips told the club’s website: “Touch wood, there’ll be no third wave of this virus people have been talking about and things won’t change before next week. Getting together again is massively important; a return to some sort of normality, without the matches of course.
“We’ve had remote contact but it’s good to be able to meet as a group, for everyone’s well-being, as much as anything else. The training will be enjoyable sessions.
“I expect all of the lads to be there next week and it’s important to get everyone together bonding again. A massive weight will be lifted for us all, including me.”
