The preparation is done and now we wait for the action to get underway on Saturday evening as Malvern Town take on Congleton Town in the fourth round of the Buildbase FA Vase (kick-off 5.00pm).

“I feel good, I feel sharp and we had a couple of great training sessions this week,” said goalkeeper Keiron Blackburn. “The boys were flying and there was such a good buzz; it’s a great atmosphere that we’re all just soaking up.”

“We’ve played well in our two friendlies. We’ve continued to progress and that’s what we were looking to do.

“Getting back as close to 100% before Saturday was the aim and we’re happy with where we’re at.

“There is no doubt that Congleton Town will provide very tough opposition. They are the level above us and they’re there for a reason.

“It’s where we want to be, so these games are a test for us and hopefully will become a weekly occurrence in the near future. There is absolutely no pressure on us. We are going to go and enjoy ourselves and play our way, that’s how we got here.

“Of course we want big games like this on a regular basis; it’s what every player wants to be involved in and it’s why you play the game. We have the chance to make history and get further than any Malvern Town team before in this competition.

“I just want to get into game mode now and enjoy every minute of the occasion.”
