The prospective new owners of Wrexham have been revealed, with actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney the interested would-be investors.

Following a Special General Meeting for the Wrexham Supporters Trust this week, where it was voted in favour of progressing on with the takeover talks, the two star names have now been confirmed as involved. Reynolds, 43, is known for such work as Deadpool, while McElhenney has created and starred in sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Wrexham add: “In due course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will put forward their vision for Wrexham AFC and proposal for members to vote on at a second Special General Meeting.”
