Nelson have completed the signing of Jay Hart from Colne FC.
The 26 year old golden boot winner from last season has left the Blues neighbours having agreed terms at Little Wembley.
Hart scored 34 goals last year to help Colne win promotion to the Evo-stik Division One North however he left the Reds in the summer to join Ramsbottom United for a short spell, before returning to Holt House.
Alex Norwood sealed the deal on Hart last night in a huge transfer for The Admirals and the Blues boss was delighted to bring the proven goalscorer to Nelson.
“Jay is a player who is in demand and who others think highly of, including clubs from higher division,” said Norwood.
“On the pitch, Jay was the league’s leading goalscorer last season and, for whatever reason, it hasn’t quite worked for him so far this season. Jay made it clear he was interested in what we are trying to create at Nelson Football Club and he is someone who will get the culture and understanding of what we do here.
I’m absolutely delighted to have Jay on board and we will work together to ensure he’s enjoying his football and doing what he does best – scoring goals.”
With one more game of a three match suspension to serve, Hart is expected to make his Nelson debut on Tuesday night in the big local derby at home to AFC Darwen.
