Either AFC Fylde or Salford City will be in the EFL next season.

The two clubs will contest the Vanarama National League play-off final this coming Saturday (11th May). Dave Challinor’s Fylde were 1-0 winners over Solihull Moors thanks to a Danny Philliskirk goal. It means a second trip to Wembley for the Coasters, with their Buildbase FA Trophy final to come against promoted Leyton Orient.

For Salford City, they had to overcome rather more dramatic circumstances to book their place. After a 1-1 draw at home to Eastleigh yesterday, Graham Alexander’s side won 4-3 on penalties. It gives the Ammies the chance to reach League Two just a year after they were National League North champions under Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley.

In the National League South, Woking will host Welling United in Sunday’s final, while Spennymoor Town travel to Chorley in the North final on the same day.
