AFC Fylde have announced the signing of Tom Walker from Salford City for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old joins the Coasters on a two-and-a-half-year contact, The attacker began his career at Bolton Wanderers, making 18 appearances in the Championship, scoring away at Wigan Athletic in his fourth game for the club.
Walker joined Bury on loan in League One, before spells at Stockport County and FC United preceded a move to Salford City. He was part of the Ammies squad that won promotion at Wembley at Fylde’s expense last season, but was an unused sub in the play-off final.
Coasters boss Jim Bentley was delighted to get the deal over the line, and conclude his first permanent signing as manager.
“He’s quite adaptable, he can play out wide, he can play in the 10, he can play in the three-man midfield,” said Bentley.
“He’s one of them that can play anywhere and that’s another real positive for us that he’s not just a one-trick pony.”
