AFC Portchester chairman Paul Kelly has paid tribute to Marty Wallace for his work at the club.
Wallace was installed as interim first-team manager in October last year, a role he kept until the appointment of Dave Carter last week.
Work commitments with the Royal Navy mean Wallace will now be away from home for long periods and will not be able to remain on the coaching staff at the Crest Finance Stadium.
He has proved to be a popular figure around the club, having taken on coaching roles with the reserves and first-team squads during his time with the Royals.
And Kelly wanted to thank him for stepping in on first-team matters and helping to stabilise the club on the field.
“Marty has been a loyal servant of the club for many years, and when we needed him to, he stepped up to take on the first-team role,” explained Kelly.
