Boss Gavin Cowan hopes AFC Telford United can continue to build bridges with supporters as he wants them to ‘really feel a part of it’.

Telford are holding an open training session and fans’ forum, where Cowan and chairman Andy Pryce will be answering questions, tonight.

It is hoped the goings-on at the New Bucks Head will help boost the attendance for Saturday’s National League North opener against Southport.

“We had the big open day when we played Villa earlier in the summer and then the players versus fans cricket match,” said Cowan, who is determined to recreate the atmosphere from his Bucks playing days.

“Now we’ve got the fans’ forum and open training session.

“We want fans to really feel they are a part of it, and I think it’s working.

“The amount of fans that travelled to Aberystwyth last Friday showed that – people taking time off work to make the trip and then staying overnight, just to watch us.”
