AFC Telford United have signed Darryl Knights.

The former Tamworth player is a versatile attacker who can operate in various positions in the the forward area of the pitch with Knights making 30 appearances last season for The Lambs scoring 10 goals. Knights spent 2016/17 with National League North rivals Kidderminster Harriers, after winning the division in 2015/16 with Solihull Moors.

A graduate of Ipswich Town’s youth Academy, he has plenty of experience with the likes of Yeovil Town, Cambridge United, and Newport County

Darryl Knights was thrilled to finally secure his move to Telford:

“To play for a club like AFC Telford United was too good to turn down. (Manager) Gav (Cowan) has always been someone I respect having won promotion with him from this league and I just can’t wait to get started. With the vision that the gaffer has presented I know we will be competitive next year and do the supporters proud!”

Gavin Cowan said: “I’m over the moon to sign a player of Darryl’s quality. His intelligence and ability will be massive in tight games and he knows how I want to play inside out. On his day he is one of the best players in the league in his position, it’s now up to me and Darryl to make sure his day comes regularly!”
