AFC Telford United have completed the signing of central defender Dominic Smith until the end of the season.

Smith joined the Shrewsbury Town youth system at the age of 7 and signed his first professional contract in February 2014 and spent most of the following season on loan at Tamworth. He made his Football League debut for Shrewsbury in October 2015, playing in their 4-2 win over Colchester United.

Smith has also enjoyed successful spells at National League clubs Barrow and Southport.

Bucks boss Rob Edwards spoke to the club website this morning once the deal had been secured:

“I am delighted to have secured the signing of Dom until of the season, he is local player we have been interested in for some time as he has experience at this level and above. He joins us with the right attitude and hunger to succeed and help the club remain in the National League North.”
