AFC Telford United have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of forward Marcus Dinanga from Burton Albion.
The 21-year-old forward has put pen to paper on an 18-month deal that will keep him at the New Bucks Head until the summer of 2020. An Albion academy graduate, Dinanga fired an impressive 34 goals for Matlock in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division in 2016/17 before finding the net 25 times in the National League North for the Bucks last season.
Bucks boss Gavin Cowan had long kept tabs on Dinanga’s development and availability, and had been in regular communication with Burton during his loan spell with Hartlepool, which enabled him to move quickly once he became available.
Cowan said: “Marcus is someone who of course I know very well and someone who I believe can contribute to what we are trying to do at this football club at the moment. We have secured Marcus ahead of many others so it’s a testament to our relationship an what he thinks about AFC Telford United that he is returning.
“I hope our supporters both new and old will come out and get behind Marcus and the other players from now until the end of the season.”
Dinanga spoke of his delight at returning: “I am delighted to have signed for AFC Telford United. It feels really good to be back and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch and to start scoring goals again for this club.”
