Former Swansea City and Crystal Palace midfielder Kemy Agustien has left Nuneaton Borough before making his competitive debut for the club.
The 31-year-old, who represented the Netherlands at Under-21 level before playing senior international football with Curaçao, signed for Boro just over a month ago. However, he has now departed the Vanarama National League North club before the season gets underway.
In an announcement on the club’s website, Agustien’s exit was announced as being by mutual consent. Club secretary Adam Etheridge said: “It’s disappointing to lose a player of Kemy’s experience and ability, but we have a number of signings that we are close to that we think will soften the blow.”
Agustien, who initially came to England with Birmingham City on loan in 2008/09, featured in three Premier League seasons for Swansea City and was on the bench as the Swans won the 2013 League Cup against Bradford City. On Sunday evening, he had tweeted: ‘Its gonna be a interesting week coming. Lets wait and see’
