The return of Cliff Akurang to the ProKit UK Stadium has been welcomed by Bishop’s Stortford boss Steve Smith, and he believes that he can help Blues move away from the foot of the table.

Akurang was in the dugout for the FA Trophy debacle at Hythe Town before formally taking over as first team coach, and with wins in the last two games, Smith knows his side are already reaping the benefits of his coaching abilities:

“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring in Cliff Akurang as coach. His return to the club has already helped. He’s very popular, he’s been a pro and he’s a good person to be around the club. I think he will be a great asset to us.

“I don’t have time to be at every training session, and the plan was always for me to take a step back after we’d stabilised things on the pitch, having Cliff around is a big boost for us,”
