Gary Waddock has confirmed former Aston Villa defender Lewis Kinsella has a facial injury picked up in New Year’s Day’s game against Maidenhead United, with the Aldershot Town boss adding that the suspected fracture is “not nice”.

Kinsella, who has made 30 appearances for the Shots this season, was forced off half-way through the 0-0 with Maidenhead after sustaining the blow to the face.

Waddock said: “Lewis will see a specialist this week. He’s had scans and X-rays. He’s injured his cheekbone, it’s not nice.”

Kinsella joins an extensive injury list at Aldershot Town and we at Surrey Live asked boss Waddock for an update on his walking wounded.

“Karleigh [Osborne – quad injury] will play some part in the friendlies this week,” the Shots boss said.

“George [Fowler – knee injury] isn’t looking good and will probably go back to see a specialist in the next week or two.”
